welcome!!

kellie photographie is the work of Kellie McAlhaney

(or Kellie Gannon, for those who knew me pre-2020)

ABOUT ME:

I am a Cleveland, OH native and currently reside in stunning Savannah, GA with my husband and our two pups.

The first 21 years of my life were spent in Cleveland. Since then I have lived in: LA, NYC, South FL, NYC again, MS, OK, Sacramento, now Savannah. And always on the go!

Favorite place I’ve ever lived: it’s a tie between NYC and Savannah, I love them both for such different reasons.

How I got started taking pictures and everything that came next: I fell in love with photography in 2004 in a high school dark room processing black-and-white film. I drove all over Cleveland with my camera shooting anything that caught my eye, even exploring abandoned buildings with other photography-loving friends. At the end of 2010, I had the opportunity to shoot a few concerts (MGK and Soulja Boy). Early 2011, I moved to LA for 6 months, and started shooting concerts at the iconic Sunset Strip venues (House of Blues, Viper Room, etc.) plus the Sunset Strip Music Festival, behind the scenes photos at an interview with singer Mickey Avalon, MGK’s first LA show, plus numerous other shoots. When 6 months was up, I returned to Cleveland to finish college. I was offered an internship with CBS Radio, helping out with events for 4 radio stations plus concert photography, and more. Simultaneously, a few friends started an online entertainment publication, Under The Gun Review, so they brought me on as a concert photographer and eventually the Head of Photography for the photo team.

In my free time, I dabbled in portrait and wedding photography, plus worked for a photo studio for a year. During my twenties I rarely slept!

I moved to NYC for the first time in 2014, shooting concerts at various venues around the city, plus working for several NYC CBS Radio stations. Then I took my talents to South FL for 3 years (yes that’s a Lebron reference) and shifted my focus to PR and Marketing for two boutique agencies followed by a larger PR agency. But I realized NYC was where my heart truly was, and I moved back from 2018-2020, during which I was able to go to Haiti 3 times as a volunteer photographer for a nonprofit organization. At the end of 2019, I met my now husband, then Covid happened and I left NYC behind June 2020, got married a few months later, my husband finished Air Force pilot training May 2021, we then moved a few times (MS, OK, CA), now here we are in Savannah, GA and loving life! After a bit of a hiatus the last few years, I’m finally able to dust my camera off and get back to what I love… photography!!

Coolest event I’ve shot: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (red carpet and media room) in 2012 and 2015.

Dream job: a National Geographic photographer and/or photographer for a travel publication.

Favorite things to do in my free time: kayak, wander Savannah, try new restaurants, concerts, museums, hike, ride my bike, work out, do yoga, read, play with my pups, day trips to areas we haven’t explored yet.

My work has been published: in print for Drum Magazine (feature for Finch’s drummer), Case Western Reserve Magazine, and Lars Müller Publishers (art collection book). Countless photos have also been published with numerous online publications, including Under The Gun Review, Vans Warped Tour, Highlight Magazine, CBS Radio, Paste Magazine, LA Record, Interscope Records, and The Sunset Strip.

As mentioned above, I took a hiatus from photography from 2020-2025. This was due to a long-term wrist injury that finally required surgery, plus Covid throwing everyone’s lives for a loop for a bit. So I took some time to focus on family, other passions, work, life, and moving around the country several more times. Now we are settled in Savannah and thriving!

I’m thrilled to finally get to share some past and current photography, book some new shoots, and collaborate with fellow creatives!
